Transcript:

It was a cold winter’s day and we didn’t want to go out at lunchtime so we all went in the toilets.  There was about 4 of us, Margaret, me, June, somebody else, I can’t remember who, probably Pauline.  We used to all hang around together. Um so the prefects came along and said “come on, get out”. Boy prefects.  So we said “If you want us come in and get us”.  I mean when you think what they do and say today. So he went and got a teacher and we were caned for that, on the hand.  But as the cane come down, I had moved my hand ‘cos I didn’t want it and got it again. And then I was terrified to tell my dad ‘cos my dad was quite strict. But apparently, he says well he’s passed on now but he would say “Well I did the same myself!” But he didn’t say that to me at the time.
