Celebrating sixty years in Hemel Hempstead

Cos I’ve been here sixty years I put the balloons out. I had a balloon with a “60” on and I put five flags out and artificial flowers in my little pot out there and nobody else seemed to know what I had it for. But my friend over the road, this is funny, she had bought me flowers for my birthday! I said “Well it’s not my birthday” and she said “Oh, what is it then?” and I said “Well I’ve lived sixty years in this house” so she said “Oh, I thought it was your birthday”. Which is quite comical because I wasn’t sixty, I was nearly eighty-five, so that wasn’t bad was it?!
