“We had Mr Bradley twice a week, we bought our bread from him and vegetables from him. And we were talking about baking- did we bake- and we did it- was automatic twice a week to make a batch of something. And I can remember being on Mr Bradleys van and the lady across the road who had five children and she spent £1 10p on cake! My baby was due in 1954 and we were living at Days Mead and every week I had my peanuts and peaches which was my fad at that time, from Mr Bradley!”
