Transcript:

“Every week I would walk with the children to a house in Colney Heath where a lady sold eggs from her own chickens.  We walked down the lane by Hazelgrove School and crossed over an ordinary road with sheep grazing in the meadows.  On warm Sunday afternoons I would pack our tea in a basket on wheels for a picnic on the heath and the children would wade in the streams catching minnows and sticklebacks.  These sticklebacks ate the others and we had one for two years in a bowl!  We walked through bluebell woods, the field on the other side grew lovely mushrooms and both raspberries and blackberries grew on the hillside.”
