Transcript:
For new residents like Jessie Axford, life in South Hatfield could get a bit confusing…..
“A bus came down Hazel Grove to a lay by, between our road and Willow Way, with the indicator saying South End (laughter), as the weather was nice I packed Christine’s bucket and spade and picnic and we boarded this bus …when I asked for a return to Southend the conductor said you are here.”
Clearly she thought she was going to the beach at Southend and not Southend in Hatfield!
