They came to live here. First of all – I mean at first it was like “where are you going?” and there was a memorable occasion when one of my mother’s aunts came to visit. Was about 54, took the Green Line through the country and she was shocked, I tell you she was shocked to find that the farmers left the cows out in the rain. And later on she said in all seriousness, before she got to Stevenage, “are we still in England?” so this gives you an example of how Londoners lived.
