Lillian Cowdery discusses the x-ray vans used to test for health issues. These were endorsed and encouraged by the county.

Lillian: We used to have um vans come around to take X-rays of your chest. For lung tests, for cancer and that sort of thing. We used to have those.

Interviewer: Where did they come from, County?

Lillian: Yes. I think that was the centre there. And people were allowed to go. They used to be stationed in one of the open places, you know that were open and people could just go in and have their X-rays taken. I I think l went on two occasions, yes to have my chest X-rayed.  They advised it.  The hospital, County advised it.  We all had to go.
