When the Community Centre was put up I then, Mrs Rayne was in charge of the Community Centre Bedwell Community Centre. And I of course, there again, being in the know of most of them, I had to, they wrote to me to be on the Old People’s welfare committee. So I used to visit being, mostly a good many people that were sick I used to get to know their parents.  And things like that so I was able to help in that capacity as a member of the committee, and each year we used to have a collection at Christmas and I would be in charge of about 6 roads, people would be, I would have, to collect in these roads for the Christmas gift for the elderly and they used bring it all to me. And I would take it, sort it all out, take it all to my bank under the old people’s welfare
