And I think we won in the end, we managed to get on alright with everybody. But at first it was a bit hard, cos the people of Hertfordshire was a lot quieter than Londoners. Well there’s a nice little village of their own and they didn’t particularly want lots of houses, they liked it as it was, but they got used to us in the end. In Dickinsons, where I worked, no-one would talk to me. One day I said to them “Why is it you don’t talk to me?” they said “Well you’re a Londoner” I said “Well does that make me have two heads or something?” and then we was friends again.
