Hertfordshire New Twns

With support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Stevenage Museum is working in partnership with the Dacorum Heritage Trust and the Welwyn and Hatfield Museum Service to create an online learning resource of photographs, film, and documents to animate oral history excerpts, that shares the post-war history of the development of Stevenage, Hemel Hempstead, Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City new towns.

The website will be growing throughout 2015, as more historical and new interviews are added, and we start to add educational resources.

The project will result in a modern, educational way of understanding how the development of new communities in the wake of World War II have shaped new towns in the county and offer an insight into local history.
